3/18/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

Lxxx (Day 23): Dear brothers and sisters, Everything is terribly unusual this season. We have unusually cold spring. The days are frosty and windy as if reflecting our feelings.

Yesterday our church started fasting and praying for the salvation of the people who are blocked in the cities surrounded by the enemy. We thank God for people who survived in the bomb shelter of Mariupol theatre when Russian plane dropped a 1000 kg bomb. The sky was clear that day and the Russian pilot could clearly see the words that were written on the ground at the theatre entrance – “ CHILDREN”. But the thought the pilot had at that moment was: “ I have an order to do it”. We’ve heard this phrase from many captive Russian soldiers for these three weeks who were killing civil people – women, children, elderly people. They say “we had an order to do it”. Thousands of Russian soldiers! Are they robots, are they zombies? What is happening in their hearts?

Now severe battles are going on in the east of our country, the enemy tries to get control of our cities there.

This morning the bomb fell on the airport in Lviv, western Ukraine.

Because the aggression comes from three sides the main task for our army now is to stop the enemy and not let to go deeper on our territory. It’s hard.

Our day starts with prayer, then I go to the local defense center and work there. There is much work. My group is making camouflage covering to hide the constructions and barricades on the coast. We work fast because there is a big need for the things like this. There is a chance to talk to different people, support and help them emotionally. them

Sxxx goes to the church where our church members meet and do different work there. Women cook food for the soldiers, men organize more places for people to stay, deliver food and other things to the people of our community, give help with transportation to people, etc. Now we plan to find out the needs of the families of the military men and give them help.

In the afternoon I come home and coordinate the work of our counseling center. I contact our counselors, we exchange news and make plans for our work in new conditions.

In the evening we have a church prayer meeting, do some chores at home and talk on Zoom to our daughter and grandchildren.

Please, pray with us for people in the cities surrounded by the enemy.

Please, pray for our army and for our church members who serve in the army now (Pxxx Lxxx, Ixxx Pxxxxx, , Vxxxx Pxxxx, Dr Axxx Pxxxxx)

Please, pray for us to do what God wants us to do.

In Christ,
Lyuda

    Where comes my help
My help is in the name of the LORD Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved.
He Who keeps you will not slumber…
The LORD is your keeper, your shade at your right hand
[so, your protector, close as your shadow (?)]…
The LORD will preserve your going and coming from yhis time forth, forevermore

    Psalm 40:16-17
But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad and you; may those who love your salvation say continually,
    “Great is the Lord!”
As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me.
    You are my help and my deliverer;
do not delay, O my God!
