3/20/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From Lxxx (Day 25): Dear brother and sisters, This is the day that the Lord has made and we are going to worship Him. It’s nice to see many billboards around with Bible verses. At the start of the war there were a lot of angry messages on them with bad language cursing the enemy. Now we see this amazing change of how God works in the hearts of people.

Yesterday I met two young girls at the local defense center. They are the students of one of our schools. They study at the tenth grade and come to help when they have time. I was listening to their conversation with each other: they exchanged the impressions of the books they read, discussed the news of the music world, shared some disputes they had at their history lessons right before the war, talked about the future and how they see it. And as they were discussing the current situation of war they talked about it as a reality and made plans what they can do to help bring the victory. No fear, no confusion, but a clear plan and a clear vision of future. I was so encouraging to talk to them.

So many people lost contacts with their relatives and friends, in social nets many people are looking for each other. Our counselor, Vxxxx, asks to pray for one of her students, Nxxxx, who studies psychology at the Christian university in Odessa. She wasn’t very diligent, sometimes missed her classes. But with the start of the war her attitude changed. She began to study very hard and told that she wants to help people. They have online classes now. Nxxxx went to Uman, the city where her family lives and when they had classes Vxxx could hear the sound of explosions in the background. Few days ago Nxxxxx stopped coming to online classes and doesn’t answer her phone. We know from the news that her city was severely bombed.

We almost forgot that it’s spring and it’s the time of gardening. We see people in our town going out and planting something when there are no sirens of air attack. It’s sad that in other places of Ukraine people can’t plant their gardens. We wish you good Sunday worship! “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Ps. 46:1 In Christ, Sxxxx and Lxxx
