From Lxxx ( Day 49): All thoughts and prayers were about Mariupol yesterday after the news of the use of chemical weapons. What is next? What haven’t they done to our country yet? I turned on Russian TV and had a short glimpse of three Russian channels. Several seconds of each was enough – all news about Ukraine: Ukrainian Nazis, biochemical laboratories in Ukraine, murders and atrocities done by Ukrainians. I wonder again and again how the lie like this can be spread and take over the minds of people now in the age of internet, when it’s so easy to communicate with people from other countries and find out what is really happening. But so many people are willing to believe the lies they hear. Our relative from Belarus phoned us and told: “ You are to blame for being bombed because you support Nazism” Father of lies made so many people blind “He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44
We met a new family of refugees yesterday. They told us their story. They are from Kharkiv and fled to western Ukraine but there were so many people going there that they spent three days at the railway station in Lviv and couldn’t find the place to stay. So they decided to go south together with another family. These two families came to our town and decided to rent one apartmen, they were living in a very crowded conditions for a while. Yesterday Sxxxx took Lxxx, the mother of one of these families, to our medical clinic and showed the guest rooms there, in the evening she sent a voice message thanking for the opportunity to move to the clinic.
I went to my hairdresser to have a haircut and told her about our work with refugees, she asked to give her contacts to the people who come to our town, she is ready cut their hair for free.
Today Sxxx and I are going to Odessa and we will spend the whole day there. Our plan is to arrange the place for the refugees there like we did in our town, to serve them, comfort, help with their needs and share the gospel.
Please, pray for our efforts and for the ability to organize a good and comfortable place for people who come to Odessa. Please, pray for the work of Vxxx, our counselor. He works with military men and their families in Odessa and every day he talks on the phone with military men in different places of war activity. Please, pray for the families of refugees we are working with.
