4/14/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky – Odesa’s billboard message to Russian soldiers: “Fertilizer, put sunflower seeds in your pockets when you enter our land!”

From Lxxx (Day 50): Dear brothers and sisters, It’s Day 50 today. Fifty days of war. Fifty days of fierce struggle and heartbreaking battle for life, for freedom and for a peaceful future. Thank you for your prayers and support, thank you for the help that your countries give Ukraine, we will not stand in this battle alone.

Yesterday Sxxxx had a call from a military base and was told to come there this morning. We don’t know why, he will find out today.

We had a good trip to Odessa yesterday. There are many checkpoints on the roads and there are not many cars. When the cars are stopped to be checked many people give food to the soldiers that keep watch on the roads. It was so sweet to see a little girl in the car in front of us come out and give a chocolate bar to the soldier. Odessa that was always hospitable and welcoming looks strange with the streets blocked by metal hedgehogs and barbed wire. The stores work but most of business offices are closed. It was a rainy day and a cold wind was blowing from the sea. But the billboards with the words addressed to Russian soldiers made us smile. Odessa always has been known for a witty humor. One of the message says: “Fertilizer, put sunflower seeds in your pockets when you enter our land!”

We start the project of helping refugees in Odessa. More and more refugees are coming, some of them come to stay and some choose Odessa as a transit point to travel west and stop only for a few days. We had some meetings and visited many places to choose good variants with reasonable prices where people who come to Odessa can live. The transit travelers will stop in the hostels near the train station, it will cost about $5 per day for one person, the people who come for a long stay can live in campsites and resort places around Odessa, it will cost about $10-$12 per day for one person. It doesn’t include food, it’s just the rent. We will buy food and other things according to the needs of the people. And as we do all this we will help them with their emotional and spiritual needs.

Our counseling center and Pathway Ministries in the USA will be covering the expenses of this project. Your support of this project is greatly appreciated. Please, pray for our work and send your partnership support to Pathway Ministries E. Langston Haygood,D.Min.,Ph.D. Pathway Ministries, Inc. 288 Huntington Parc Circle Birmingham, AL 35226 (205)835-3325 http://www.pathwayministriesinc.com.

We ask you to pray for the safety of our area so we can receive more people from the war zones and help them to be comfortable and safe here. Please, pray for Sxxxx. We don’t know what God prepares for him. In Christ, Lxxx

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”
