4/18/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From Lxxx (Day 54): Dear brothers and sisters, Christ has risen! We can say this again and again during the whole year.

Yesterday when we came to the church we were so happy to see our brother Ixxx, who had a day off and could come to the church. He played the guitar and sang during the worship and he addressed the church at the end. He told us that he feels that this time now probably is the best time for evangelism in this century. Nobody is skeptical, everybody prays and listens to you when you talk about God. Many people start reading God’s Word. Ixxx talks to many soldiers around, sometimes individually, sometimes he talks to the groups of soldiers. Once he talked to a group that was going to the front line, they all prayed with him and responded to his greeting “ Glory to Jesus!” with “Glory forever!” ( This is how people in Ukraine greeted each other before the Soviet Union era)

Many people come to our church to get help: refugees, who stay in other places in our town, and local people among whom there are elderly people, mothers with children, disabled people. Our church members also take help to those who can’t come.

Yesterday after church service one of our church lady asked me to talk to her and I had a spontaneous counseling session with her. Vxxx has had a tension in the relations with her daughter who lives abroad and it seems that our present war situation aggravated many conflicts people had before. She can’t talk to her daughter, they just argue. It’s not the first time I see the situation when family members who move abroad and are plunged into a different culture and different way of life stop understanding their relatives. Please, pray for Vxxx and her daughter.

We see two tendencies now. Some people try to go back to the liberated territories and some people try to leave occupied territories and the zones of war activity. We see
people transiting through our town both ways. We advise them to stay. Europe is so crowded with refugees now and liberated territories are not safe yet. Many areas are mined, many buildings are ruined.

We hear from the news that Russia brings new troops from their territory in the east.
The looting and violence against the civilian population continues in the occupied territories.

Out biggest pain today is Mariupol. It seems that they have already destroyed everything there and they continue bombing it.

Please, pray for our country and for our ministry.

In Christ,

  1. I pray for you many times a day and send messages daily to my elected leaders telling them what is happening in Ukraine. Do you know if Doug in Lviv is alright?
Grace and peace to you, and the love of our Father
