Lxxx (Day 69): Dear brothers and sisters, We start a new day with a mixture of feelings. We thank God for His protection and at the same time we are saddened by what happened in Odessa yesterday. There was a rocket attack and the alarm system didn’t work. Probably, the rockets were sent on a low level and the radars didn’t see them. As a result we have ruined buildings, deaths and wounded people. Also the bridge near our town was hit again. We don’t know why they spend their rockets on the objects that are already destroyed.
Today we start a new project – breakfast for refugees. We will meet in one of the local cafes. We understand that it’s hard for some people to come to the church and we want to reach as many as we can. Yesterday we gave invitations to some people at the center of registration and asked the volunteers there to share the information with other refugees that came to their center.
We also invite volunteers to help the work of our counseling center. If we have a big group of people we will need help.
Yesterday we had a prayer meeting in Zoom with our counselors and it was nice to see Vxxx and Axxx a who are in France now. Their parents are doing well. They are organizing their ministry there.
There are many people who lost contacts with their relatives who live on the occupied territories or left the country. It’s very hard. Olga, the lady who stays in our church doesn’t have any information about her son and his family who are in Mariupol. One lady from our church asked us to pray about the family of her cousin from Melitopol, she didn’t hear from them for a long time and yesterday they called. It’s not easy to live in the occupied city but they are alive and relatively safe and hope that soon their city will be liberated.
Please, pray for the protection of Odessa, for the families of our counselors Vxxx and Rxxx who live in Odessa. Please, pray for the safety of the families of our church who live close to the coast. We ask you to pray for our work with refugees, so that we could reach many people. And pray for all families that had to be separated to be able to unite first through telephones and then in reality.
