From Lxxx ( Day 71): Dear brothers and sisters, Our days get warmer and warmer and it’s strange for me not to go to the beach. I am a beach person and I enjoy spending time near the water reading, praying, walking. People who usually watch me there probably think :” What a lazy person, she spends so much time on the beach every day”. They didn’t realize how much work I did there – studying, planning my lessons, translating different materials, inventing ideas for women’s retreats, etc. Of course I mixed it with swimming, jogging and listening to the sounds of waves.
This summer will be different. Our beaches are mined and it’s dangerous to go there. I worry so much about the families from our church who live on the beach. They probably see the Russian ships from their windows. For many people in our resort zone beach business was their only income. It will be a hard year for many people here. It will be another opportunity for the church to give help to local people and encourage them to trust the Lord who can meet all our needs.
Every evening during our church prayer time we do a special prayer for our soldiers who are fighting with the enemy to protect our land. We pray for Ixxxx and Pxxxx, our youth leaders, who are the students of the seminary. Once in a while they call and we are able to talk to them. They ask us about the church and the life of people. They can’t tell us where they are and what they are doing. They sound positive. Ixxxx came to the church couple of times when he had free time. But we haven’t seen Pxxxx for a long time, probably he is serving not close to home.
We pray for our doctors – Axxx, Lxxx and Yxxxx who serve in the military medical units. Dr. Axxx is Ixxxx’s mother and her husband and her brother are serving in the army, too. Each of us has a family member, a relative or a friend, who are in the army now. Please, pray with us for their safety.
Yesterday I received a message from my former student Jxxx who is my good friend and co-worker. I missed her and was wondering where she was because she had always been an active volunteer and a fighter for justice. She wrote me that she is in Germany now, she is pregnant and is going to have a baby soon. But it’s hard for her to be away from her country in such an important period. I was glad to hear from her, she has a good reason to be away.
Please, pray with us for our country and for the people who need our prayers very much.
In Christ,
Lxxx

Our Father in heaven,
Deliver us from evil.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Thy will be done.
Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as in heaven.
Thine is the kingdom, power and glory.

I grew up near the shore. I remember how the water was so calming and how I could still hear the waves in my memory as I lay down in the quietness at night. I pray that the Lord, himself, will supply that loss. He has promised that out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. May those waters flow to refresh you all as you minister Life to those whose need is so great.
