From Lxxx (Day 78): Dear brothers and sisters, I start this day with thanksgiving. Every day we receive information about people who are in very difficult conditions. And we in our town have everything for a normal life. I thank God for His provision, I thank God for each of you, for your prayers, for your words of encouragement and for your help.
Yesterday we had a very good webinar that was a gift to our counselors. We learned some practical things of helping people with trauma. Our counselors have a lot of calls every day and they are very busy giving help to people who are in Ukraine right now and to people who are abroad. It’s a paradox that sometimes people who stay in safe places feel more traumatized than people who stay here. Our counselor Vxxx works with a girl in Germany who feels very lonely and abandoned. Her boyfriend left her, she shares a room with people she doesn’t know, she has no money, no friends, no family. She needs some dental work but her insurance doesn’t cover it. Vxxx tries to help her and be a persons who cares. One of our refugees, Vxxxx ( the musician from Kiev) is going back home. Kiev is a safe place now and many people are returning home. We will buy him a train ticket and some food. We also want to connect him to the church in Kiev and keep in touch with him. The people we are working with now have places in our hearts.
It was a good walking day yesterday. The weather was nice and I enjoyed it. Sxxxx was able to get some fuel for the car yesterday and he took my mother to the doctor. We decided to be economical and to use the car only in case of necessity. So, I will continue walking.
Yesterday I received a letter from our local authorities. They invite psychologist to work with state organizations to help refugees. I immediately answered that we are ready to cooperate. There is a story behind it. For two years we have been praying and asking God to open the doors of state institution for our counselors. We wanted to have official permission to work in orphanages, schools, help the police, participate in state programs. We visited different meetings, where we tried to advertise our center, we wrote letters, we made flyers and posters about our work, made advertisements online. There was no response and now we have an official invitation. It’s interesting how God answers the prayers. Please, pray for our work, for us to be where people need us.
In Christ, Lxxx
