5/12/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From Lxxx (Day 78): Dear brothers and sisters, I start this day with thanksgiving. Every day we receive information about people who are in very difficult conditions. And we in our town have everything for a normal life. I thank God for His provision, I thank God for each of you, for your prayers, for your words of encouragement and for your help.

Yesterday we had a very good webinar that was a gift to our counselors. We learned some practical things of helping people with trauma. Our counselors have a lot of calls every day and they are very busy giving help to people who are in Ukraine right now and to people who are abroad. It’s a paradox that sometimes people who stay in safe places feel more traumatized than people who stay here. Our counselor Vxxx works with a girl in Germany who feels very lonely and abandoned. Her boyfriend left her, she shares a room with people she doesn’t know, she has no money, no friends, no family. She needs some dental work but her insurance doesn’t cover it. Vxxx tries to help her and be a persons who cares. One of our refugees, Vxxxx ( the musician from Kiev) is going back home. Kiev is a safe place now and many people are returning home. We will buy him a train ticket and some food. We also want to connect him to the church in Kiev and keep in touch with him. The people we are working with now have places in our hearts.

It was a good walking day yesterday. The weather was nice and I enjoyed it. Sxxxx was able to get some fuel for the car yesterday and he took my mother to the doctor. We decided to be economical and to use the car only in case of necessity. So, I will continue walking.

Yesterday I received a letter from our local authorities. They invite psychologist to work with state organizations to help refugees. I immediately answered that we are ready to cooperate. There is a story behind it. For two years we have been praying and asking God to open the doors of state institution for our counselors. We wanted to have official permission to work in orphanages, schools, help the police, participate in state programs. We visited different meetings, where we tried to advertise our center, we wrote letters, we made flyers and posters about our work, made advertisements online. There was no response and now we have an official invitation. It’s interesting how God answers the prayers. Please, pray for our work, for us to be where people need us.

In Christ, Lxxx

  1. Praise God for the open door for your counselors. Asking God to continue to bless your work among the brokenhearted and crushed in spirit. Let you light shine before men so that they see your good deeds and praise our Father in heaven!

  4. So glad to hear of a good walking day for you. I, too, was able to walk to the mailbox and mail an anniversary card to my loving son and daughter-in-law who is like another daughter. I love to hear about how God is answering prayers like the official invitation you received. I tell others of these answers to remind them that sometimes it takes time and unusual circumstances to occur for the prayers to be answered. These are certainly difficult times for so many. I am also glad to hear that your area is stable and God is providing richly. I think about all He has promised us. He is faithful to His people. Blessings

  5. Ps 138 “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me…”
Its too long to type but Ps 138-142 are heartcries of David that bring hope as well as call for help. Your conselors can share them-it takes 10 minutes to read them aloud.

  6. Your post today so practically reflects my devotional reading from the old puritan, William Gurnall:

“Observe God at work, and be assured that what He is about will be an excellent piece. Man’s wisdom may be leveled with folly, but God’s design is never interrupted. None can drive Him from His work. A builder cannot work when night draws the curtain, and he is driven off his scaffold by a rainstorm. But all the plots of hell and commotions on earth have not so much as shaken God’s hand to spoil one letter or line He has been drawing. The mystery of Providence may hang a curtain before His work so that we cannot see what He is doing, but even when darkness surrounds Him, righteousness is the seat of His throne for ever….”

  7. Lxxx,
Amen, the Lord does provide all needs.

You are an encouragement to us, sister. We see the Lord working in your stories. He gets the glory. You are faithful and point to Him. This blesses us to share your stories.

Wow – your counseling ministry so needed with doors opened by the Lord in big ways with an official invitation. Sounds like the Lord – He so mighty.

Prayed for Vxxxx, the musician as he heads back to Kiev, for him to connect with the church there.

Continued prayer and thanks for your safety.

    Anne
