5/14/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From Lxxx (Day 80): Dear brothers and sisters, It’s a nice sunny morning, but they promised rain and our farmers will be upset if it doesn’t rain today because we’ve had a dry month. Our local market is full of greenery and different vegetables. It’s a season of strawberries now and we enjoy them as always. Ukraine is an agricultural country and it’s so hard to think of those farmers who were not able to work in their gardens this spring and are not going to reap the harvest because of the war happening there. So sad!

Yesterday our counselor Rxxxx had a call from a woman from Kherson region, she and her little daughter live close to the occupied city of Kherson and want to leave their place. We decided that we will help them to come to Belgorod, because now it’s safer than Odessa. Now we need to pray for them because so many people who called us before with the intention to come didn’t come. We heard from some of them and know that they just couldn’t leave because of lack of transportation or closed roads. But from some of them we never heard again and couldn’t contact them any more.

Yesterday we had a group meeting. Txxx and I usually lead this group together. But Txxx has so many calls now, so she was busy with online counseling and I led the group. We met in the park as we had planned before. I planned to show them around the town, tell them a history of our place. But I had to change the plan. One of the ladies in the group, Sxxx, felt very nervous being outside, she didn’t want to see the sights and walk around. So we agreed to go to the café and have some coffee. When we came inside and sat around the table, Sxxx calmed down and we had a good talk. Yesterday was a quiet day without explosions and bombing. We hope for a peaceful weekend.

In Christ, Lxxx

  1. Thank you for telling us so sweetly about your homeland. We pray each day that the Lord will protect Ukraine and His people there. We pray for your strength also. they that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength… We pray for the refugees and that the Lord will, give wisdom to the counselors.
