From Lxxx (Day 113): Dear brothers and sisters, It’s my 6th day in Romania without sirens and stress. But today as I was listening to a Zoom lecture from Odessa Christian university, I heard the siren as the teacher was speaking. I immediately felt some feeling that usually appeared near my stomach at home when I heard the sirens. The feeling of alert that something bad is approaching but you never know where exactly it is coming and hope that it’s not coming to where you are.
The highlight of the day yesterday was the ladies’ Bible study. I was so glad to see my dear sisters from Odessa and Nikilayev churches and to see Masha from our church. We studied Psalm 107 and discussed the theme of the storm in our lives. Why does God send us storms? How do people tend to respond to storms, and what blessings we can receive during the time of tribulation? Other ladies admitted that they also feel that God speaks to them exactly about the situation we are experiencing now whatever passage of the Bible they open.
Our counselor Rxxxx sent me a photo of a beautiful picture you can see attached below. This is a gift from his client, a woman, a mother of five children who came to Odessa from Chornobayevka, the place which was attacked many times by Russians without success. Their primitive military tactics caused many jokes in the social nets. But for the people who live there it was not funny. So, this woman came to Odessa with her family scared, stressed and traumatized. She needed help and she found Rxxxx who was working with her more than a month. She started painting this picture when she stared a therapy and now the picture is finished and the therapy is completed, too.
My daughter Kxxx went to Odessa yesterday and she was shocked to see the city so different from its usual state in summer. It’ s so strange to see no tourists. Many cafes and restaurants are closed, there are no street musicians. It’s a big contrast to what it used to be.
Yesterday at our Bible study we were reminded that when God takes away something that we are used to He gives something new and much more better for us. I dream of new Ukraine, new beauty of our cities, new life and new churches.
Thank you for your prayers and for staying with me and my country during this difficult time.
