7/31/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From Lxxx(Day 158): Dear brothers and sisters, I want to share the verse of today from our church chat:

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Hebrews 10:35-36

Odesa region slept well and yesterday was a quiet day. The only explosion we heard was of the destruction of the sea mine which the waves brought to the shore. The sea is very dangerous now and we worry about the ships that will carry the grain. Our ports work and the information came that the ports have loaded 17 vessels, of which 10 are already ready for shipment.

Yesterday we had a group meeting and we did it in two groups. Txxx worked with a group of teenagers and had an individual session with one of them later. I worked with a group of adults. We talked about the people in our life, about those who influence us, whom we admire and ready to follow, about our influence on people and about the people we love and value.

There was a moment when the group became quiet, they were writing and thinking and then one lady said: “ Because we think only about the war and what is going on now, we forgot how to think about other things that are very important” So, we practiced to express our thoughts, observe, bring memories and think about good things. A new man came (Vxxxx), he didn’t talk but he wrote something on his sheet and by the expression of his face I could see that the topic was interesting for him.

Yesterday I had a call from my good friend Dasha, who lived in Kiev before the war and was very active in the church ministry and in many denominational projects. We often crossed paths with her at the conferences and other denominational projects we did together and she was always full of joy and energy. It was such a fun to communicate with her because she was so encouraging and loving. Now she is in the Netherlands and feels very lost and lonely. It’s very hard for her to be far away from her church and from her friends. Now she needs our encouragement and prayers.

Today is our son’s birthday. Vxxxx is 24. He is in Kiev now. In the beginning of the war he wanted to join the army but he was denied because they recruited only men with army experience, there was no time to train people then when the army had to fight immediately. So, he returned to his job, he works in IT company. His company supports and helps the army a lot. They also do the work of their colleagues who are in the army now so that they continue to receive their salary in the company. Vxxxx also joined a cyber army and what they do there they will reveal after the victory.

I wish you a good worship day!

In Christ,
Lxxx
