From Lxxx ( Day 159): Dear brothers and sisters, I send you my greetings and wish you a good week!
Yesterday we had a good day with many positive events. When we came to the church in the morning we saw a very unusual picture. A crowd of people were standing near our church. We usually see this on Easter near Orthodox church. When the worship service began the church was full of people. There were elderly people, young mothers, people in a baggy clothes with tattoos. I was glad to see the refugees we work with, they came and hugged me.
Many of people were invited when they came to the church during the week and received help and we understand that it’s exactly like the situation when Jesus said: “Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.” John 6:26 But this is the opportunity for them to hear the gospel.
The atmosphere in the church was immediately different. New people sang hymns with us, clapped, responded with exclamations to some words of the preacher. It was good. And we, “frozen-chosen”, liked it. After the worship I talked to people who were sitting next to me. Two women asked for a Bible.
We had a women’s class after the worship and some new women joined us. We talked about forgiveness and had some good discussions.
Yesterday evening Sxxxx’s sister, Txxx, called us and we talked a little. She told us about her church, the fellowship they had. She came home in a good mood but then there was an air alarm and the sounds of explosion were heard. There was an attack on the outskirts of the city, not much information about the details. Though it’s hard, Txxx is doing well. She is strong.
The first ship with grain is leaving Odessa port today. It carries 26 tons of corn. Turkey and UN organization claim to guarantee the safety, but the risk is still high. We pray for the safety.
We hear that Russia transfers a large number of troops to the territory of the occupied Crimea. They do it to stop the advance of our army in the south. We hope so much that our territories will be liberated. We pray for Kherson and other places that are occupied in the south. Please, pray with us.
