From MTW Online: After two months sheltering in a school, Dasha yearned to hear silence, to see friends, to walk—not run—on the street, to read the Bible.

When Russia attacked Kharkiv, Dasha saw the planes and heard the bombs fall, followed by fire and screaming. For two months she lived inside a nearby school with teachers, students, and other neighbors. After two months she yearned to hear silence, to see her friends, to walk—not run—on the street, and she wanted to read the Bible. She moved to western Ukraine to live with a community of believers and now understands how God is using these difficulties to strengthen her faith.
Dasha sees a resurgence of Christian faith throughout Ukraine, especially among young people. The invasion from Russia has reminded people of the Soviet Union days when Christianity was forbidden, and now there is an even greater desire to return to it. Now Dasha is one of many helping to reignite faith and spread Christianity within Ukraine.
