Timothy Snyder is the Richard C. Levin Professor of History at Yale University and a permanent fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna. He speaks five and reads ten European languages.
Class 1 is an introduction to the course and an exploration of questions raised by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

I started to watch this thinking I would only spend a few minutes on it, but I ended up watching the entire lecture. I learned five things I didn’t know in the first 10 minutes. History is complex and fascinating. To see Ukraine as the heart of so much human history is eye-opening to say the least. Thank you for posting this. I hope many people are moved to watch.
