9/26/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky: Russian attack nearby

Night sky of attack on nearby village

From Lyuda (Day 215): Good morning, dear brothers and sisters, This night was not peaceful for us, there were two attacks by drones. Some of them were destroyed in the air but two hit the nearby village and started the fire there. We don’t know about victims, at 3 a.m. they started evacuating people from the village. There is not much information, they don’t give information not to let the enemy know if they hit the target they wanted.

We can place some of the people from the village in our church. Besides food we have warm clothes for winter that we collected to give people who are in need.

This week our church is announcing fast. We feel the escalation: our region is constantly attacked by drones, Russia is having a recruitment campaign, mobilizing new soldiers and there are more and more threats of a nuclear strike. We are going to stand before the Lord in prayer seeking His Face and His protection.

“And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.” Isaiah 2:4-5

We had a good worship yesterday and we had the Lord’s Supper. We are glad that Ivan is serving in our town now and can be in the church and be with his wife. Two families from our church who live on the other side of the broken bridge the Lukoshkins and the Medvedyuks came to the church. They can’t do this often now because it is very difficult to travel – it takes long time and there is much traffic jam on the only road that leads here. There were some new people. I talked to a young man who happened to be a psychologist by profession, I told him about what I am doing and he was very interested. We exchanged the phones and agreed to meet during the week.

After the worship I spent some time with Valya, Vitaliy’s widow. She wants to talk, she recalls in details Vitaliy’s last days and wonders why it happened so fast. Her daughters stay with her now and it’s good that she continues her ministry in the church, she is the main cook who organizes cooking food for our soldiers and she keeps track of important dates of our church members and congratulates people on anniversaries and birthdays.

I wish you to have a good week!
In Christ,

  1. Dear Lyuda,
Praying for you all as the war seems to be escalating with the terrible suicide drones!
It is an answer to prayer that God has allowed you all in BD to be a place of refuge for so many! It is a wonderful blessing to have warm clothes, a place for people to sleep and a place for people to hear the only hope, the gospel!
    Love in Christ,

    • My heart breaks over the suffering, but I know that our Savior lives! One day, He will return in triumphant glory, and every knee will bend in submission to His lordship! All wars will cease and peace will sweep the land.

  2. I apologize I haven’t been commenting as much as I did. I have a new computer, so it will be easier to comment.
I am still watching and reading everything I can about the war, refugees, counselors. My heart breaks over it all. I am praying for you and all Ukraine every day. May God bless you with peace.

  3. Ouur Father in heaven,
    Deliver us from evil.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom cone, Thy will be done on earth as in heaven.
Thine is the kingdom, power and glory.
