10/5/2022 – War update and commentary

From Jamie Peipon: Ukraine’s armed forces are continuing to clear russia from its bounds with steady progress. Another huge swath of land was liberated again in the south. It seemed like a notification would come in every 30 minutes or so about an additional town above which the blue and yellow had again been raised. But there are bigger things brewing down there. There is a large russian force that is wedged between the Dnipro river and the Ukrainian army. It is estimated that there are up to 25,000 russian soldiers in this area. They are “wedged” there because Ukraine has targeted all the bridges and other supply lines in such a way that they can’t simply retreat. If/when Ukraine makes it to the strategic city of Nova Kakhovka, it will take a Dunkirk-level deliverance for those soldiers to escape.

Nova Kakhovka is an extremely important city for at least two reasons. 1. There is a dam that crosses the Dnipro river there which is an escape route for lighter vehicles (but not heavy tanks and other mechanized units), and 2. It is the fountainhead for the North Crimean Canal. When Crimea was under Ukrainian control, this canal provided close to 90% of the peninsula’s fresh water. Control of this canal from source to reservoir is one of the most valuable assets to be gained or lost in this war as russia had been set to spend close to $800 million on supplying fresh water to the peninsula.

Water isn’t the only problem for russia. Reports have surfaced that conscripts that have been called up to fight in Ukraine have been told to bring their own food. What makes this even more perverse is the fact that russia has stolen about half a BILLION dollars’ worth of grain from the country to which these conscripts are being sent, and yet they somehow have nothing with which to feed them. It would appear that the grain from Ukraine is mainly putin’s gain. He’s inhumane and vain… yet, to complain his men abstain. Even while slain to attain the terrain and champagne putin wants to obtain. The insane russian brain can explain this campaign to profane Ukraine with their mundane refrain: “through this pain and our strain we’ll regain our historic domain!” … until slain or detained. They’re a hideous stain and a pitiful shame with themselves to blame.

One can get carried away…

The Iranian Foreign Ministry declared that they would not recognize russia’s referendums in Ukraine. If that doesn’t put an exclamation point on their ridiculousness, what will? If Iran’s official position is that you’ve been dishonest and a little heavy-handed with the citizenry, you’ve probably got problems.

Lastly for today, the US approved another support package that includes 4 HIMARS (bringing the current total to 20 with more promised over the next 2 years), Howitzers, 75,000 artillery rounds, and 200 mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles (MRAPs). Other goodies were also included which will all be put to good use and will help Ukraine to end this war as soon as possible.

“The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a snare of death. The violence of the wicked will sweep them away, because they refuse to do what is just. The way of the guilty is crooked, but the conduct of the pure is upright.”

  1. Thank you for sharing these updates. They bring such clarity. The poetry was spot on!

Praying that Ukraine will recognize that it is the hand of the Lord that is ordaining these marvelous victories. May His love bring peace and healing to the physically and emotionally wounded. May there be spiritual restoration even as the land is restored.
