From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (229th night of ruzzian invasion): This morning felt like a deja vu of Feb 24th – waking up to multiple explosions, spending the morning obsessively reading news about horrible missile strikes, and listening to air raids. Many people went to bomb shelters today – too many explosions to ignore. I knocked on Sasha and Nikita’s apartment door after a series of explosions, asking if it might be a good idea to spend some time at least in our corridor that we considered our bomb shelter in the early weeks of the war. They were very sure they didn’t want to do it. Briana was happily smiling and waving at me during that brief discussion I had with her parents.
So we tried to go about our day as usual though it was of course, impossible with all the news that came about missile strikes on Kyiv and other cities. In the late afternoon, our building lost electricity for 4 hours. Since everything in our building is electrical, including the cooking stove, we ended up getting some take-out food and having dinner at candle light together with Sasha, Nikita and Briana. Electricity did come back in the end of our dinner.
Once again putin demonstrated that he is not bound by any rules or laws of humanity. All the strikes today were on downtowns of cities and critical civilian infrastructure – all with the purpose of sowing terror and fear. He is a maniac and a terrorist who has lost all touch with reality. It’s time for the world, for leaders of civilized counties, for opinion makers like Elon Musk to realize that there are only two choices left – to help Ukraine win this war or to enable a ruzzian home-grown monster even further by giving in to his crazy demands. Slow help to Ukraine is not helping putin save his face, it is only helping him to kill more Ukrainians. He is not rational, he doesn’t want a way out, he still believes he can win because everyone plays by the rules except him.
Please, keep praying for Ukraine and for complete defeat of ruzzia and putinism.
