10/18/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From Lyuda (Day237): Dear brothers and sisters, It looks like we have another disturbing week. Yesterday we had a lot of alarms through the day, one after another. Oil refinery was hit in Odessa region. The enemy tries to destroy all our sources of energy and leave us without electricity, heating and without fuel.

There were many attacks on Kiev again. This night we had alarms and our morning begins with the sound of sirens. People share in the nets videos of the drones in the sky, some people even try to destroy them themselves with the guns. I thank God for protecting our town and pray for other cities and other territories that are attacked.

The verse of today for me is Isaiah 41:10
“ Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. “

Our counselor, Vika, shared the story from crisis chat, where she gave help to a girl from Kiev
Yana 17
“I lived in a students dormitory in Kiev. On October 10 at night we were woken up by a loud sound of explosion. We all got up and ran into the basement where we stayed all night. In the morning we got out and I decided to go to the store which was few blocks from my dormitory. I wanted to buy some food and water and bring it to the basement. On the way back I heard another strong explosion and when I came to my dormitory I saw that there was a huge hole in the asphalt near which people gathered. I came nearer and saw dead bodies and parts of the bodies there.

Then I spent three more days in the basement, after that I could go to the village where my parents live. It’s quiet and peaceful here, birds sing and I go for a walk I the wood. But I still think about what I saw that day near my dormitory.”

Vika is working with this girl.

And there was a good news yesterday: 108 Ukrainian women were released from Russian captivity. It was the first all-female exchange. Among these women there is Viktoria a woman who was parted with her 4-year-old daughter, Alice, in Mariupol. Now mother and daughter will be together again.

Please, pray for our people.

In Christ,

  1. We are praying that the Lord will be your shield and high tower. May he thwart every evil plan. May He comfort every distressed heart that cries unto Him. We faithfully lift you all in prayer.

  2. Thankful for the 108 women exchange. Will pray for them as I cant imagine what they endured while in captivity.

Isaiah 41:10 was given to me too, over and over, when going through breast cancer treatment last year. God IS faithful. Will be praying you see God’s hand of mercy as he fullfils his word.

Praying for the counselors as they have a demanding ministry at this time.

  3. Our Father in heaven,
Thine is the kingdom, power and glory.
Give us today our daily bread.
    Deliver us from evil.
    Lead us not into temptation.
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
    Hallowed be Thy name.
