From Lyuda (Day 245): Dear brothers and sisters, Thank you very much for your prayers for my father. He is doing better. He talks, he answers the phone. He wants to read and asks us to bring him books. But his doctor says he can’t read now, it’s too early. And the doctor doesn’t allow him to walk. We hope that after he gets some treatment he will be able to do what he wants.

Yesterday we had a good time during our charitable breakfast. The people come and stay in the café for a long time, they don’t want to leave, they talk to each other. It’s nice when new people come. There was a new couple yesterday, I talked to them, told about our center, about my church. When I invited them to come to the church they told that they will be glad to come, before the war they started to attend the Baptist church in their village.

Another lady shared her needs with me, she can’t afford buying medicines that she needs. We will find out exactly what she needs and help her with it. Sergey usually does it. He contacts different drug-stores looking for a better deal. Sometimes the same drug with different name costs much cheaper.

Sergey began to do some improvements in the yard of my parents. He tries to find few hours every day to do something. It helps him to be distracted from other things and be creative. Yesterday I helped him and did some painting. That gave me such a feeling of satisfaction to see the work done.

We talked to our daughter yesterday and she told us that she was very touched how the school treats the children. In Yara’s class all kids read the book about Ukraine to learn about the culture and traditions of the country of the new girl in their class. Katya was moved to tears. They also told us about the warning of tornado. It’s a new experience for them.
We wish you to have a good day and no tornadoes 😊
In Christ,
Lyuda

Dear Lyuda,
Wonderful to hear you father is improving!
That is a great idea to fix up a courtyard or paint, etc. I’m sure it is a wonderful distraction and nice feeling of accomplishment!
Also, so good to hear the report from Katya, that is so nice of her daughter’s teacher to read the book about Ukraine to her students!
Love in Christ,
Jill

Lyuda, you are such a jewel! How impressive that you are able to keep your sense of humor during this time! I am thanking God that your father is doing better; praying that he will be able to read very soon…especially his Ukrainian Bible. You and Sergey are a good team. So glad that you both find working at your father’s home satisfying. Also thanking God for Katya’s adjustment to the U.S.. Continuing to pray for her and the children…and you. Thank YOU for your excellent communications.
