From Lyuda (Day 253): Dear brothers and sisters, Peace and grace be with you and with us all.

I dream of the day when I will not read the news all the time. It’s impossible to get used to the regular rocket attacks on our cities . Zaporizhya and Kharkiv were hit yesterday. Three rockets were flying in our direction (it happens almost every day) but they were destroyed over the sea. We thank God for His protection and think and pray for other cities, where they have very serious problems with electricity and heating. People in Kiev spend their evenings in darkness.

The advance of our army slowed down and the reason of it is probable the fact that Russian troops became more numerous as they started mobilization of civil population. We want to hope that this is a temporal situation. We ask God to give our army strength to liberate our land that is groaning under the pressure of the occupants.

It’s a blessing to live in the place that is not occupied and it’s so good that people from other places can find refuge here. We watch them come back to normal life, start working and studying, find new friends and build new relations. As we watch their recovery which is not complete yet and will continue for a long time, we think of the recovery of the whole country after the war and about much work that will have to be done to help with it.

I try to communicate regularly with our counselors and I see how tired and weary they all are in the evening. Now it’s a hard time for everybody when seasonal cold viruses added to the problem of stress and longs hours of work.

Our counselor Vika teaches at the university and does active counseling in crisis chat, she also ministers in a soup kitchen where she cooks every Saturday. I suggested her to order ready-made food because it’s too much for her doing it without help. Vika told that she enjoys doing it and Saturday cooking is a relaxing time for her. It’s very encouraging that people who come to the soup kitchen, come not only for food, they come to talk and feel that special atmosphere of love and care.

Ukrainian ships with grain left Odessa port under Turkish flags and the enemy didn’t dare to strike them.

Please, pray for our counselors and their work.

In Christ,
Lyuda

  1. Our Father in heaven,
    Deliver us from evil
Give us today our daily bread
    Lead us not into temptation
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us
    Thy will be done

  2. How can they make war fashionable? It’s an oxymoron IMO. Instead show the devastation, those killed, the horror, maybe they will have empathy and do something about it. Is France supporting Ukraine? Thankful Turkey is helping get the grain out of Odessa. Will pray for counselors.
