From Lyuda (Day 250): Dear brothers and sisters, Every morning in November is foggy and the rustle of fallen leaves reminds of irreversibility. The thought that winter will inevitable come is a little depressing.
Sergey went to Kiev yesterday and I feel a little lonely. We usually discuss the latest news and Sergey gives his prognosis for the day. We all became war experts now and try to predict what is going to happen. Prediction is easy now. Yesterday there was a good news that all Nikolayev region was liberated. Now all our thoughts and prayers are about Kherson.

The big news of yesterday was a birth of a little boy, our elder Valery has a new grandson. His wife Natasha went to stay with their daughter-in-law as their son, Dmitry is serving in the army as a paramedic. Catherine, Dmitry’s wife, found out that she was pregnant right when the war started. She was anxious and worried a lot in the beginning because nobody knew what was going to happen. Praise the Lord it’s peaceful in their city.

My cousin Valentin came to the church yesterday to pick the blankets for his military detachment. He came on a car that was donated to the army, he had it painted in camouflage colors and packed with food and other different things the soldiers might need. The car was going to the front line to be a help there. Valentin can’t go there himself after the hospital, so he became an active volunteer.

Our refugee group met for a Bible study and our topic was “prayer”. Valery led the study, explained what prayer is, we read the Scripture, had a good discussion if it matters how you pray.

At the end Valery proposed everybody in turn to thank God for something in prayer. He understood that for some people in the group it was the first prayer in their life and he challenged them. They all prayed, they thanked God for a peaceful day, for their families, for our soldiers, etc.

One man, Misha, always was very quiet. I was watching him during our Bible studies before and was wondering if he was listening, because it seemed that he was in his own world. When it was Misha’s turn to pray, he was short, he said: “ Dear God, thank you for revealing me Jesus, thank you that I know Him now”.

Please, pray that He who has begun a good work will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
