11/19/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From Lyuda (Day 259): Dear brothers and sisters, We are glad to have a nice and peaceful morning after a quiet night without air alerts. We were happy to have electricity again in our building but there are many districts in our town where people stay without electricity. There is no electricity in our church building and we could not bake pies for our soldiers yesterday.

Our generator gives light and we can boil water in the kettle to have tea, many people from the neighborhood come to charge their phones but it not powerful enough to give the energy for the ovens. Our elders are working now at installing gas cookers that can work using gas from gas cylinders that can be filled.

It looks like our army is much busier now. We don’t hear often from Paul. Ivan is at his service all the time, though he serves in our town we don’t see him often.

Yesterday Sergey visited our new refugees Galina and Masha who stay at the clinic, he took them food and spent some time with them. There are vivid changes in Galina, she talks she is active, but her daughter, Masha is still closed. She doesn’t talk and looks down. We hope they will join our group. We expect more people to come to our area from the liberated cities and villages where there is a lot of destruction and no heating.

We continue praying about the refugee center in Odessa and about the wisdom to organize it. We found the facility that we think would be good for this purpose and are making some steps asking God to show us if it’s the place He wants. Please, pray with us and support us in this effort.

Yesterday we had a Zoom meeting of our counselors. It was nice to hear the news from Vova and Angela, who live in France now. They organized a prayer group and meet on Sunday. They are looking for a place where they can meet regularly and start a worship on Sundays. They do counseling with the refugees there and also work online. Vova keeps in touch with the soldiers, he supports some of them since 2014. Angela does counseling with women who have different problems and she sees that one of the problems which became very common for women impacted by the war is a low self-esteem. We talked about the importance of focusing on the truth and on the way how God sees us and how He values us.

We wish you to have a good weekend.
