From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (277th day of ruzzian invasion): After a very difficult week filled with hardships, without power, water, heat, with a lot of uncertainties and worries our church gathers to pray and praise.
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here,
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan’s tyranny;
From depths of hell Thy people save,
And give them victory o’er the grave.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Dayspring, from on high,
And cheer us by Thy drawing nigh;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Key of David, come
And open wide our heav’nly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Adonai, Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai’s height,
In ancient times didst give the law
In cloud and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

Yes, Lord. A perfect song to sing to our God! Hear their prayers, O LORD!

Praying this would be the refrain for Ukraine and all of us. Amen

Lord Jesus, please provide your people, who are enduring many trials, with everything they need. Give them every form of sustenance with the power of your Spirit, Amen
As we celebrated our Thanksgiving holiday last week, my family read II Corinthians 9. It was perfect for 2022, as the whole world is in a low spot this year. I hear how the Ukrainian church continues to persevere, and I know you are giving and giving of yourselves in every way. So, I pray that blessings of all kind abound as your cary the torch.

Dear Maia,
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful song. It’s so appropriate for Ukraine with all the current hardships you are facing there, but also for all of us who live in this sin-darkened world. O come, o come, Emmanuel!
With you in Christian fellowship and in prayer,
