12/10/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From Lyuda (Day 290): Dear brothers and sisters, Our day was cloudy and rainy but in the evening before it got dark we saw some rays of the sun.

We had a rehearsal of Christmas drama and it is always fun. This time I let our youth to show more initiative though I don’t always agree with their ideas, but I want them to be in charge, so I step back.

Each time we prepare a drama I hope that it will help young people to understand better Biblical stories and feel the feelings of the characters.

During the rehearsal we saw a new woman in our sanctuary, she comes to play the piano. She didn’t know that we were going to have a rehearsal, so she stopped playing and was watching us practice on the stage, she said she liked it. I didn’t have time to talk more, I hope we will get to know her better next time we meet.

We had a meeting with our counselors in Zoom yesterday, it was Tanya’s birthday and we all gave her gifts – Bible verses. It was nice to see Vova and Angela who live in France now.

I talked to Angela afterwards and she told me about a refugee from Ukraine that came to live in in France with her 6-year-old daughter. The social workers there asked Angela to visit Toma (this is her name), because they began to worry about her. Angela found Toma in a deep depression, she stays in bed all the time and does not take care of her daughter. She told Angela that she has been suffering from depression since childhood and was on medication that helped her to be in a normal state. But when the war began, all her symptoms came back and she feels very miserable now, she does not want to live, does not believe that anything can change. Angela talked to her about her future and about the future of her daughter. She is going to meet regularly and work with Toma and she needs our prayers for Toma and for her work with her.

Please, pray for all the people our counselors work with now.
In Christ,
