12/19/2022 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky: Attack in Kyiv

From Lyuda (Day 299): Dear brothers and sisters, We had a quiet night but this morning brought sad news. Kiev was attacked by drones this night. The enemy sent 35 drones and 30 of them our air defense was able to destroy but 5 of them hit some important objects. There is damage to critical infrastructure facilities.

Energy and heating engineers are working to stabilize the situation with energy and heat supply as fast as they can. At the place of hit there is still a thick black smoke, there are emergency power outages in Kyiv region.

The photo of Vova’s mother, her name was Zhanna.

Another sad news we received from our counselor Vova, who is in France now. This night his mother went to be with the Lord. The parting with his mother is very difficult for Vova, they were very close. Please, pray for Vova and his family.

We had a good worship yesterday. We had electricity and it was warm. Sergey preached about the incarnation of Jesus (Hebrews 4:14). I was glad to see in the church our new refugees that joined our group last week. It was so nice that they came, I talked to them afterwards, they enjoyed the worship and the fellowship.

After the worship we had a rehearsal of our Christmas program. As we prayed before practicing we also talked that now during the war it’s especially important to bring people love, joy and fun.

We had a good relaxing evening at home, we decided to watch a good movie, this is something Sergey and I haven’t done for a long time.

We have many plans for this week preparing for a big holiday. We hope it will be good and nothing will take away our joy.
In Christ,
Lyuda

  1. Dear Lyuda,
Sorry to hear about Kyiv being hit yet again! Praying forth Lord to bring much comfort to the suffering!
Also, praying for Vova with the loss of his dear mom!
When will you celebrate Christmas? In the past it was after the New Year, has it changed to December 25?
My prayers are with you all as you present the Christmas pageant, May many people see the true meaning of Christ’s birth,
    Love in Christ,
    Jill
