12/31/2022 – War update and commentary: The 309th day of russia’s 2-day military operation

From Jamie Peipon (Day 309): The picture shows just how intense the fighting can be over a very broad area. You can see smoke rising from the impact of shells landing all across this field and in this town as well. While russia continues to say that it has come to “liberate” the people of Ukraine, all they are doing is bringing destruction. Everybody would be far better off if they would just go home.

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said just that tonight in a speech he addressed to the citizens of russia this evening. He claimed, “In early January, the Russian authorities will close the borders to men, declare martial law, and begin another wave of mobilization. Borders will also be closed in Belarus.” He also said that he knew this “for a fact.” It will be interesting to see how this develops over the next week.

There are new reports emerging that russia’s Bakhmut offensive may be culminating. This is that point at which an army cannot continue to attack because of losses, supply issues, etc. On this 309th day of russia’s 2-day military operation, it is pretty amazing to think about how much their plans have changed. At first, they were going to take half of Ukraine. Then, there was a pincer maneuver in the works that was going to allow russia to take all of Ukraine east of the Dnipro River. When that didn’t work out, they decided to officially annex a few regions. Not being able to hold onto that, they have now been inexplicably throwing most everything they have at the city Bakhmut. Their army is so depleted that it now appears that even the basic task of taking this one city is beyond their reach.

In other good news, the Biden administration is now apparently discussing sending Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles to Ukraine. While these look like small tanks, they are actually armored vehicles that transport infantry and also have some onboard firepower. The Bradleys have a machine gun, a 25mm cannon, and anti-tank launchers. They also have advanced software for acquiring targets, positioning, etc. This would be another significant step forward as Ukraine still has a lot of work ahead of them as they liberate their territory.

“For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips,
let them be trapped in their pride.
For the cursing and lies that they utter,
consume them in wrath;
consume them till they are no more,
that they may know that God rules over Jacob
to the ends of the earth.”

  1. Psalm 1: 4-6 Not so the wicked! For they are like chaff driven off by the wind.
    Therefore, the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD guards the path of the righteous,
    but the way of the wicked will perish.

  2. Wondered if the Russia people understand/ listened or are so entrenched by propaganda, reject it, yet looks at the FACTS as you presented. Thankful for Ukraines resilence and divine deliverance. Lord give them the VICTORY!
