1/26/2023 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky: Today we are having a stressful day

From Lyuda (Day 337): Dear brothers and sisters,
This morning is not good for us. The air alarm started early in the morning and we know about some hits in Odessa and other cities. It looks like another massive attack. We have no electricity and no internet. I hope to find the place with internet to send my message.

Yesterday I visited our refugees who stay in the guest rooms of our medical clinic. It was nice to see that they created their little community there. They have the list of duties and every day there is a person on duty who does cleaning in the kitchen and looks after the order.

Two girls there, Valery and Leda, study online, it’s their last year at school and they plan to go to the university. Leda wants to be a teacher of Ukrainian language, she loves reading and writing. She even does tutoring, helping others with Ukrainian. The girls attend our youth group and have a lot of questions, we are glad to talk to them and give them answers.

A young man Ilyusha stays at the clinic with his mother. His mother Alina has some health problems and he is a very careful and attentive son. He and his mother attend our church and Bible study. Ilyusha is always ready to help. He helps a lot at the church and is ready to do any work whether it’s cleaning, gardening or computer work. We talked about recording the sermons so that our church members who are far away now could listen to them. Ilyusha immediately volunteered to do it.

Lyudmila a lady from Kharkiv who used to be a gymnastics coach in the past lives in the clinic with her cat. She loves indoor plants, she is taking care of the plants in the clinic and created a little garden on the second floor.

I am so glad to see that they are comfortable and have everything they need. And it’s so nice that they created a friendly atmosphere in the place that became their home.

In Christ,
Lyuda

  1. May the peace of God that passes all understanding be yours this day. Looking to the Great Intercessor who sits on the Throne.

Thinking of the hymn: Before the Throne of God Above

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is love
Who ever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in heav’n He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart

  3. Dear Lyuda,
Praying that God will give you all peace and comfort during this very stressful time!
It is so good to hear the stories of the people living there now and how they visit the cafe.
I am also praying for healing for Sasha, may the Lord bring healing to his lungs and give him more strength.
    Love in Christ,
    Jill
