1/28/2023 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky – Spiritual warfare

From Lyuda (Day 339): Dear brothers and sisters,
Sergey and I were discussing the passage about putting on the whole armor of God. We talked about spiritual war which is constantly going on. And this war is not the war for the territories, it’s the war in which Russia tries to impose the philosophy of Cain, devaluing the human life and proclaiming violence as highest good. Putin tempts other countries to do the same with the disputed territories. It’s a challenge to God. So, we should stand in the full armor in faith, with prayer, with preaching the Word and encouraging others and join us in this.

Our day was quiet yesterday and I could do some studies. We had a Zoom meeting with our counselors and I am so thankful that God brings new people who want to join our ministry.

Nastya continues her work with children in Romania and she writes her own stories which help children to go through the story with its characters and overcome some problems and fears they have. She also does art therapy and besides working in a group she works with children and parents individually.

Our new counselor George could not join our meeting. He volunteers in municipal watch, they patrol the streets of Odessa. Yesterday was his shift. George started counseling in our office in Odesa and he plans to start a support group for the soldiers with PTSD.

As we are thinking and making plans for the refugee center, we see that God also directs us to include the ministry to the soldiers and have the place where we could help the needs of different groups of people not only refugees. We see that there are so many needs- soldiers, their families, widows, etc.
Please, pray for us to make the right decision.
In Christ,
Lyuda

  1. Praying faithfully that the Gospel will bring healing to the Ukrainian people. I am thinking of my devotional reading today from “More than Conquerors” (William Hendrikson) that reminds us: “All things ultimately must glorify
God: His will is carried out in the universe. The throne rules. The
Lamb reigns. As a result, believers need not fear in times of tribulation,
persecution, and anguish.” Our eyes are upon the Throne.

  3. Psalm 9:22
“Why, Lord, do you stand far off?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?”..
[through the end of the psalm]

  4. Yes, I agree. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done.” Even in the midst of this turmoil, He is working out His will–more people are coming to know of Christ’s love through your work!
