February 1 (Day 343): Dear brothers and sisters,
There are many people we pray for now and we are very glad when we hear from them and know that they are doing well. We were very glad to see in the news Dr. Yaroslav, who we’ve been praying for. Our President was in Nikolayev few days ago and visited the hospital there to thank the staff of the hospital that works courageously in a city that is constantly bombed. The President talked to the doctors and nurses and presented Dr. Yaroslav and his colleage gifts, they received watches from the President. We are very proud of this young man who works as a surgeon and has already a big experience of working in a war conditions. He did many surgeries in the basement with a flashlight.

There were periods when he did not sleep for several days. He saved lives of many our soldiers he also helped wounded Russian captives. His mother, Lena, serves together with Dr. Anya now. They worked many years together at our Christian clinic and we often saw Yaroslav as a little boy there who came to the clinic dreaming to become a doctor.

Yesterday during our breakfast in the café we talked about many things. Natasha wanted to talk about the problems with her son – teenager. It’s very hard to communicate with him. Maria didn’t feel well all last week, Nina worries about the health of her husband Valeriy, he often has arrythmia attacks, Mila talked about some difficulties she has in communication with her daughter and son-in-law. Katyusha always comes with good news and shares about her studies and achievement.

A new woman, Lyudmila, came yesterday. She is from Nikolayev and lives here with her elderly mother. She was happy to meet people in the café because her life for last several months has been very monotonous and boring. We hope she will join our group meetings.

Our counselor, Roman, shared the news of the family of refugees he works with. (This is a family with many children, whom we bought a generator). Timur and Galya came from Kherson region and live in Odessa now. The mother of the family is glad that her children continue studying music in Odessa. She is especially proud of her son Tolya who plays the piano and the tuba and her daughter Sofia plays the flute. Tolya also sings and is going to have an audition soon. It’s so nice that their life came to norm and they can work and study.
