2/6/2023 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky: The Church worshipping

From Lyuda Betina ( Day 348): Dear brothers and sisters, We had a good day yesterday. The day was cold but there was electricity in the church during our worship and we felt warm. Our music groups comes early and start rehearsing the songs for the worship. When Sergey and I come they are already there and itโ€™s so nice to open the door of the church and to be welcomed by the sounds of familiar hymns.

They sing more and more hymns in Ukrainian, though some we still perform in Russian. They began to sing a lot of new hymns. Our musicians, Svetlana and Ivan, besides playing other instruments play the organ. Yesterday Ivan had a day off from his service and he could be in the church.

Our elder Valeriy preached on the parable of the rich man and Lasarus. Itโ€™s good that new people and refugees who are new in the church could hear about two types of eternity people can have, about repentance and the time when itโ€™s too late to repent, about Godโ€™s justice.

I am glad that Sergey ( the man who has cancer) and his wife Svetlana come to the church. We talked to them after the worship, they do better emotionally. I hope they will rely more and more upon God and go with Him through this difficult period in their life.

I also talked to Oksana, the woman I met last Sunday. She was not very talkative yesterday, just answered my questions. I told her that I was praying for her during the week. She didnโ€™t come to the Bible study that we invited her to come. I hope she will come this week, because she needs the fellowship of a small group.

We have more children in our Sunday school. There were very few children when the war started but now we are glad to welcome refugee kids who come regularly and some kids from the community.

Our youth group stayed after the worship and played some board games in the fellowship room. They always bring the spirit of joy and good humor with them no matter what.

We hope your worship was good yesterday, too. We wish you a good week. God bless you!
In Christ,
Lyuda

  1. Dear Lyuda,
How nice it is to hear and see you, our brothers and sisters worshipping.
The Holy Spirit really does bind us together even though we have never met!

Your pictures tell the story of your Sunday. Thank you so much.

Praying for Oksana, that she would join you this week.
So nice the Lord keeps His worship alive with the musicians he gives you.
Hymns played on an organ sound wonderful.

And praise the Lord again for the joy, good humor the youth bring – a true gift to the whole church family. Praise the Lord He has shown them a place in your church family – in His family.

    Your sister,
    Anne

  2. The lady with the microphone in the first picture–is she the American who married a Ukraine soldier? How is she doing? How is he doing? (I know that you may not be able to answer my question… ๐Ÿ™‚
