2/10/2023 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky: Another massive attack

From Lyuda Betina (Day 352): Dear brothers and sisters, This morning is not quiet. There is a large-scale alarm throughout Ukraine. The enemy strikes our territory with rockets doing another massive attack. There is a warning of more power outages. We pray for protection.

Yesterday our day was good and busy. Sergey went to the local hospital in the morning to talk to the doctors there. He has good relations with many doctors in our hospital and has a free access to visit people from our congregation and community when they are in hospital. Sergey went to talk about our neighbor, old man, Victor, who is sick. The doctors there know his case very well because he often was in hospital within the last year. They say that there is no sense to take him to hospital again because all they can do is give him supportive treatment, there is no way to treat his problem. It is sad that Victor is very lonely, he does not communicate with his adult children. He is not a Christian and is closed when we try to talk to him about spiritual things. We take him food and Sergey spends some time with him every day.

We had a good Bible study with our refugee group yesterday. Our elder Valeriy taught about the church to help them understand what the church of Jesus Christ is like. There were many good questions and we stayed longer than usual answering the questions and discussing other issues. It’s good that Svetlana and Sergey (the man who has cancer) come. They are quite different, they talk and smile, Svetlana brought some pastries that she baked. It’s nice to see how there people who did not know each other some months ago are becoming a family.

My mother feels better. It’s good that in spite of all problems we are able to keep our house warm. Sergey and I moved to the house of my parents since the beginning of the war and we are glad to see changes in them. My mother used to be depressed a lot, now she is much better. There are changes in their world view, they read more and we talk about spiritual things and we will get through this troublesome time together.

We hope this day ends well. May God bless you!

In Christ,
Lyuda

P.S. There are photos of our Bible study group and of Svetlana’s pastries.
