2:15/2023 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From Lyuda Betina (357): Dear brothers and sisters, We had a good day yesterday and we hope your day was good, too. It was nice to see people with flowers everywhere, it made the whole day joyful.

I came to the café early, there were not many people. I saw a military man at the table in the corner and went up to greet him and give one of the gifts that we give to the soldiers in the café. I came up and started talking, when he turned to me I saw that it was our good friend with whom we did so much volunteering work together in the past. I was so happy to see him. We knew that he was fighting but we worried because we didn’t know anything about him. And I understood why. He asked me to call him by his nickname, Rain. He came for a short time to train a group that will go with him to do a special task. May God help them and protect them. We will know more about their activity after the war. And meanwhile we are thinking what we can do for him and his group while they are here. I shared the news about Rain during our church prayer and our ladies have already some ideas.

There were many people in the café later and we had fun greeting each other. We gave the people around the hearts with Scripture and blessed the workers of the café with some treats. They do everything to help our ministry. We know that the owner of the cafe donates a lot for the army.

Our refugees said so many good words to Tanya and me and repeated again and again how much the fellowship of the group means to them. Four new people came yesterday. It was nice to meet them and it’s nice to see that they want to be in a group. The word of the mouth informs other people about our group, they hear positive things and want to be a part of it.

Sergey spent some time with our youth group that met in the church to watch a movie. They watched an American movie about a soldier who came back home after the war in Afghanistan and had a hard time adjusting to the peaceful life. Sergey felt that Alex, the eldest son of Sasha and Nadya, wanted to talk. So they talked a little bit about his dad’s recovery and about life in general. It’s good that he and other children of their family come to the church and we can communicate.

Thank you for your prayers.

In Christ,
Lyuda

P.S. There are photos of our breakfast in the café and of the flower market yesterday.
