From Lyuda Betina ( Day 361): Dear brothers and sisters, It’s still winter but the sun is so bright that we feel the coming of spring. Ten more days and winter will be over. We didn’t freeze and we were able to go through this cold and dark season. We know that there can be rather cold days in spring, too, but they will not be long.

We had a good time in the café yesterday. Our group is growing and we are glad to see how easily new people become a part of the group. Yesterday we played a game we mixed new people with the old ones, divided them into pairs and the task was to learn as much as possible about each other within 5 minutes. Then they told what they found out. We learnt some interesting facts about our old members that we didn’t know before. One lady has a very unusual hobby, she makes pictures of fish bones. A new man Igor did not talk much about himself, he wanted to talk about his daughter who serves in police. It was vivid how proud he is of his daughter. A new woman Natasha came with her teenage daughter, Alya, the girl refused to join the youth group that meets in another part of the café, she wanted to sit with her mother and did not talk.

We noticed how much they enjoyed doing crafts couple of weeks ago so I invited Sveta Lukoshkins to come again and do something with them. We did promise bracelets with the beads of different colors. Black- is our sin, red- the blood of Jesus, white is a clean soul washed by the blood, green – spiritual growth and gold- eternal life.

They enjoyed this activity very much stringing beads and repeating the meaning of each of them. They acted like our kids in Sunday school. Jesus told us to be like children if we want to understand the gospel.

Our youth group also was busy with some creativity. They were reading psalm 147 and dwelled on the verse 4 “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.” Then they made a poster where they placed different stars giving them names and making stories about the life on the planets.

I hope more people from our group will start coming to our church. Many of them already come, some come regularly, every Sunday, some come from time to time and some are still hesitating feeling the pressure of orthodox culture or dealing with some prejudices.
