3/2/2023 – We trust in the justice of the Lord

Today’s picture – the destroyed apartment building in Zaporizhzhia.

From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 372):

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
who alone does wondrous things.
Psalm 72:18

The losses of the Russian army have exceeded 150,000 (according to the statistics kept by the Ukrainian military). In February 2022, Russia planned to use 200,000 soldiers in the “special military operation” against Ukraine. They had to send more personnel after facing Ukraine’s fierce resistance. Can you imagine that 75% of personnel initially intended for the invasion has been eliminated? Yet they continue their mobilization. The journalists investigated that the “average life span” of a Russian soldier fighting in Ukraine is about two months – that’s the amount of time (based on phone and social media records) that passes between the deployment and when the soldier goes out of reach.

Last night, in the middle of the night, Russian forces hit a five-story residential building in Zaporizhzhia. At least 2 people were killed, many more were injured, and 5 more were reported missing. The blast wave damaged the nearby buildings and vehicles. The rescue operation continues through the night, 24 hours later.

We trust in the justice of the Lord.
