Voice of Ukraine

From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv visiting US (378th day since a neighboring country shamelessly broke into our home and is continuing to wreak havoc): I am going to see my son in just about 24 hours! Can hardly wait!

But my reality is divided into two worlds – in one I am excited to hug my son in just a few hours, in another, I am worrying about our family back in Ukraine.

It’s a deep night in Ukraine (4am) and an air raid started almost 3 hours ago in all regions of Ukraine. The news is reporting explosions in a few regions. This is the hardest time to be away from home. I knew there would be at least one massive missile strike while I am gone and it seems to be it. The news is filling up with reports about multiple missiles hitting our cities.

Update. The air raid is now for 5 hours and there is a new wave of missiles hitting the cities of Ukraine. There have been explosions in Kyiv.
