3/20/2023 – One mother’s story

From Snezhana Kadian (Odesa): My husband and I take our dog for a walk. Usually we walk on the streets and sometimes we meet familiar people. Once we met our previous neighbor Vika. We asked if she needed help with food and she said yes. She’s raising two kids by herself. So she came for humanitarian aid with her younger son Andrey. I suggested a cup of tea and she stayed. She was absolutely exhausted and sad. Her brother and her boyfriend are in the army. And the most horrible thing was that her mum just committed suicide a few days before. This woman couldn’t handle this situation because her son is in constant danger. She was found by her grandson almost lifeless. Praising the Lord she was delivered to hospital in time and survived.

We gave Vika some food, medicine and first aid like tourniquets for her boyfriend, who’s going through training and soon will go to the front.

Then we prayed for her family and she left. In a couple days she wrote me a massage: “Because of you I now know that God has not left me”

Later Vika offered her help in the church. When we made an event for single mothers she was the one who helped with preparation and distribution humanitarian help.

Then her son came to the craft class we made at the church. Here’s this sweet boy and his handmade keychain.

Just a few days ago Vika’s brother received shrapnel wounds all over his body. When he recovers he’ll be sent back to the front.

  1. Ps 139:7
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
    8
If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in hell, you are there.
    9
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
    10
even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
    11
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”
    12
even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
