4/1/2023 – An imprecatory prayer for the aggressors

From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (401st day of ruzzian invazion): Invaders continue leveling everything on their way to the ground. No brain, no heart, no morals, no courage, but plenty of ammunition. So they keep pummeling cities and villages with artillery, destroying all the buildings, and killing civilians. So much for “liberating” ruzzian speaking regions.

Here is what Alex Zaitsev, pastor of Avdiivka church, wrote in his post today:
My city, Avdiivka, Ukraine 😢
This is what lust for power does!
Rise up, Lord, confront them, bring them down; with your sword rescue me from the wicked. By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.
As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.
Psalms 17:13‭-‬15

  1. The oldest member of our retired men’s Bible study has brought up imprecatory prayer twice in the last few months. He used examples from the Psalms to show that they are valid. Admittedly we don’t like to think of that kind of prayer. However, the Bible shows we should pray for the defeat of evil, whether it is in Ukraine, the United States of America, or elsewhere. Amen
