Someone posted a trailer announcing a movie coming on screens in 2024. They wrote, “Remember when the news could be about new movies?” This phrase sent a shock wave through my body. I tried to remember those times. The days when only military fans knew all the weapon names and “war experience” was limited to movies. I remember days when we didn’t have to follow the news from the front lines. Those days seem so distant! 9 years ago, Russian occupation started spreading through Ukraine. Over a year ago, the life of every Ukrainian was interrupted, put on hold until further notice. What was it like to travel abroad and have airplanes take off and land in Kyiv airports? What was it like not to have checkpoints and anti-tank obstacles along the road? What was it like not to have your friends risk their lives fighting the enemy? What was it like to live an ordinary life? Those memories hide somewhere in the deep corners of my brain. I know they will return one day, and that’s when we will start trying to forget what we live through today.

Please, pray for our defenders. May the Lord keep them and guide them to victory.
