We know that Christ was crucified on Friday and was risen on Sunday. But what happened on Saturday? Was God passively watching the humans mourn the death of their beloved friend and teacher? Was God helpless against the power of wickedness? Was God defeated and waiting to regain strength?
No! Saturday was the day of silence. The day of making a choice to trust God. The day of relying on His character and His promises despite the circumstances. It was on Saturday that the hope of resurrection was being forged and tempered in the hearts of His disciples.
Lord, help us be faithful and keep our eyes focused on you as we go through this challenging time. Please help us choose you daily, and show us your mercy and grace.
