From Euromaiden Press: Russian forces showed no mercy during the Orthodox Easter weekend, unleashing a series of brutal attacks on innocent civilians in Ukraine.

On Good Friday, Russian missiles struck Sloviansk in Donetsk Oblast, killing 12 people and injuring 21 others.

But the violence didn’t stop there. In Kherson, just one day before Easter, two women were killed by Russian shells in the street – a mother and her daughter. The city, which has been under constant attack since February 2022, has seen 80% of its population flee in fear for their lives.

On the night before Orthodox Easter, April 16, a missile barrage rained down on Zaporizhzhia Oblast, obliterating the Great Resurrection of Christ Church in Komyshuvakha and leaving a trail of devastation in its wake. This act of destruction highlights the true nature of the so-called “Russian world”, which desecrates the most sacred sites and destroys without mercy.

These acts demonstrate that Russia has no respect for sacred holidays. It’s a stark reminder that in times of war, there is no respite.
