5/4/2023 – “…Trap them in their own nets…”

From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (433rd day of ruzzian invasion): In the last 6 days Kyiv and many other regions of Ukraine have been under massive missile and drone attacks 3 times – always in early hours of the morning killing people in their sleep.

Today Kherson region was attacked by many short range missiles that took lives of at least 23 people and many were injured. The targets that ruzzian hit in Kherson were supermarket, train station, construction store, residential building. The photos are too horrible to see and I will not repost them. This kind of news and worse is almost routine in Ukraine for 14+ months.

In the middle of the day an unusual news hit the media – Kremlin had been attacked by two drones. Ukrainian officials are saying that putin is imitating an attack on Moscow to inspire his people for the more enthusiastic support of the war. Ruzzians are accusing Ukraine of the attack and their media is hysterical about what a terrorist attack it is.

I don’t know if those drones were Ukrainian. But I find it ironic how ruzzians get outraged by the idea of the war that they started actually spreading to their land. They are ok with daily war crimes and missile strikes on Ukraine, they rejoice over losses of life in Ukraine, over millions who lost homes, but they find the very idea of retaliation to be unfair and unjustifiable!

Seeing the picture of the explosion over the Kremlin today reminded me of Psalm 35:8 “…Trap them in their own nets…”

Psalm 35:1-9:
1 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.
7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.
8 Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.

  1. And thus be it ever, when free men shall stand
between our loved homes and the war’s desolation
Blessed with victory and peace, may the Heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that has made and preserved us, a nation.
    Then conquer we must
For our cause, it is just,
    and this be our motto:
    ‘In God is our trust’

last verse of “The Star-Spangled Banner”, national anthem of the USA
