From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 446):
Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God,
who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them,
who keeps faith forever;
who executes justice for the oppressed,
who gives food to the hungry.
Psalm 146:5-7
During the air attacks in the past two weeks, the Russians destroyed two large humanitarian aid warehouses. One was in Odesa and belonged to the Red Cross. Another one belonged to the NGO “Light of Reformation” and was based in Ternopil. The Russians were talking about destroying military targets and hitting ammunition depots. Still, the truth remains that they try to win by terrorizing civilians and taking away their means of existence.
A journalist and photographer, Bohdan Kutiepov, made a report about the medical team in the Bakhmut area. His words are raw and stir your heart deeply. He explicitly describes one image: “A pile of personal equipment, weapons, and blood-covered clothes, which the medics literally cut off from the wounded to access the wounds… The clothes lie in a heap until they are taken somewhere. Unfortunately, there is often a rule of thumb during a counteroffensive: those who attack take more casualties than those who defend. In February, I observed one medical checkpoint where such a pile would grow daily and be the size of two human heights. Sanitation workers take these bags out, and the next day, the same pile grows in the same place. And how many such checkpoints are on the front line?.. However, individual details make the overall picture more vivid. You see a loaf of bread. The bullet pierced the car and the backpack and got stuck in the loaf of bread. In other words, bread may have saved a warrior’s life.”
I am speechless. Such stories remind me that God is the Lord over all, and nothing is impossible for Him.

I remember that my great-uncle, an navigator in WWII told of a soldier who was saved as a bullet lodged in the New Testament tucked in his pocket. Our great God is able deliver His people.
