From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 447):

His delight is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,
but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him,
in those who hope in his steadfast love.
Psalm 147:10-11

God showed His mercy last night. It was one of the most intense attacks on Kyiv, exceptional in terms of its intensity, with the maximum number of missiles within the shortest period of time. I have never seen so many self-possessed people say they were scared to the bone. Had the missiles hit the intended targets, many parts of Kyiv would have been in ruins by morning. My close friend said it looked like balls of fire or a wild firework show in the skies, and they had never seen anything like that.
Last night, at around 03:30 a.m., Russian invaders attacked Ukraine from the north, south, and east directions with 18 missiles of various types (6 “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles, 9 “Kalibr” cruise missiles, and 3 “Iskander-M” missiles). Ukrainian air defense forces shot down all 18 enemy missiles. In addition, Ukrainian defenders successfully destroyed all kamikaze and aerial reconnaissance drones launched during the night’s air attack.

For most of the day, many of us were still trying to comprehend what had happened at night. I have no other explanation than it was God’s mercy.

We don’t know how many more missile attacks we must endure. However, we know that we’ve been through enough, we’ve survived the winter with severe blackouts, we’ve lost too many friends to this war, and we’ve cried too many tears to be broken by a missile attack. Ukraine is resisting and will resist until we get rid of the oppressor.

  1. Psalm 63
    1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
