5/29/2023 – “When will they have enough?”

Today’s picture – glorious Kyiv through the camera lens of Serhiy Ristenko.

From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 459):

The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:9‭-‬10

Today is Kyiv day, and the Russians started the city day celebration last night with the largest drone attack yet. They launched 59 drones at Ukraine, and our air-defense forces shot down 58 of them, but the debris still caused damage and destruction.

Now, Kyiv and all the regions of Ukraine are under another air raid warning with missiles flying at us. We’ll know the details in the morning. When will they have enough?

Be gracious to me, O Lord! See my affliction from those who hate me, O you who lift me up from the gates of death, that I may recount all your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in your salvation.
Psalm 9:13‭-‬14

One response to “5/29/2023 – “When will they have enough?””

  1. Annie Lennox, inspired by “Lord of the Rings” author (and veteran of WW I &II), J.R.R.Tolkien.
    “Lay down
    your sweet and weary head.
    The night is falling;
    you have come to journey’s end.
    Sleep now
    and dream of the ones who came before.
    They are calling
    from across the distant shore.
    Why do you weep?
    What are these tears upon your face?
    Soon you will see
    all of your fears will pass away
    safe in my arms
    you’re only sleeping.
    What can you see
    on the horizon?
    Why do the white gulls call?
    Across the sea
    a pale moon rises;
    the ships have come to carry you home.
    And all will turn
    to silver glass-
    A light on the water.
    Grey ships pass
    into the West.”
