From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (467th day): Dear friends, from the beginning of this awful invazion we have been asking you not to pray for some abstract peace at any cost. Peace can come in two ways – ruzzia can stop bombing our cities and pull its troops from our land, and it will end the war, or Ukraine will fail to defend its land/people, and we will cease to exist, which would also end the war. Hopefully, over the past 467 days we have proven to the world that we do not plan to cease to exist. We are stronger and more united than ever!
For the last couple of months, we have lived in anticipation of a successful offensive of the Ukrainian army that would free all the occupied territories. Every morning we look for news about the offensive starting. Some say it has already started; others say it’s about to start. We don’t need to know when and how; we just want to wake up one morning and see ruzzians fleeing in panic back to their own home.
Please, join us in prayer as our defenders will free our land and liberate people from invaders’ oppression. Offensive potentially brings more casualties unless the enemy runs in panic as they did when fleeing from Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions. From the beginning of the current Ukrainian offensive, may we see God’s promise from Exodus 23:27: “I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run.”
Pray for God’s protection for our defenders so they can win and safely return to their families soon, to their children, mothers, and spouses. Our church is praying for many Ukrainian soldiers that we all know personally.
