From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 472):

For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but has heard, when he cried to him.
Psalm 22:24

When surrounded by darkness, look for the light. When overwhelmed with despair, look for hope. When struck down, rise up and overcome wickedness with love.

Two days ago, the volunteers said they no longer needed clothes for the people evacuated from the flooded areas because they had received more than enough.

Today, the shipping company that organized free delivery of aid to the Kherson region stopped accepting food items because their warehouses were overflowing with donated food.

Someone wrote about their friend who almost got in a fight with the said delivery company and finally succeeded in sending 300 kilos (over 650 pounds) of food items to Kherson.

The roads to Kherson are busy with cars from all over Ukraine bringing drinking water, blankets, animal carriers, and boats.

With the water escaping the Kakhovka reservoir, the waterline recedes in many other locations upstream. In Zaporizhzhia, the Dnipro river became shallower and left behind lots of garbage in the riverbed, so the locals organized a community cleanup gathering.

It’s hard to remain human in inhumane circumstances, but we must persevere to defeat evil.

Please, keep praying for Kherson. The Russians keep shelling the city, especially evacuation points. To cap the misery, the weather forecast warns about a strong wind and heavy thunderstorm in Kherson tomorrow (Sunday). Please, pray for God’s mercy.
Also, the enemy keeps attacking Ukraine with drones and missiles, bringing more destruction.
