From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (485th day): Ukrainian offensive (or some call it counter-offensive) is continuing gradually to liberate our land. Some Western media is eager to repeat ruzzian propaganda in their analysis of the Ukrainian offensive, saying that it is slower than was expected. When we see those kinds of statements, we want to ask, “expected based on what?”. If they are comparing the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region last Sep, then yes, it’s slower. But then there was an element of unexpected in it. This offensive had been talked about since winter, and Ukraine was waiting for all the promised tanks and weapons to come in – that was slower than expected! Meanwhile, ruzzians were digging in their defense positions and saturating fields with landmines.

But anyway, our offensive is succeeding. You can tell by the fact that putin is turning on again nuclear threat blackmail. In the past, whenever things were going very bad for ruzzian troops he started talking about using nuclear weapons. Lately, ruzzians started paddling the topic of the explosion of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station that is temporarily is under their occupation. That would be a disaster even worse than the explosion of the Kakhovskaya dam, which flooded many villages. Nuclear waste from power station will end up polluting the Black sea and will affect all countries that have access to the Black sea.

We still believe that it’s unlikely that ruzzians will do that desperate terrorist act. But they are paddling this talk primarily not for scaring Ukrainians but for scaring the rest of the world in the hopes that other countries will pressure Ukraine into giving in to putin’s demands.

But we can not give in because even if we reacheda peace agreement at the unthinkable cost of losing part of our land, it would only be temporary peace, rather a pause in the war. Ruzzia would recover, build up their military, and return for more of our territory. So our fight for the future continues! The Light will overcome darkness.
