From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (502nd day): Ukraine is expecting from tomorrow’s NATO Summit clear indicators that we can join NATO after the war without waiting for years. It’s rumored that USA and Germany blocking the resolution. Frankly, I don’t get it, but I am not a politician. I am just one of the millions of Ukrainians whose lives have been upended by ruzzian invazion. We will not be safe if we are not a part of a larger alliance.

Interestingly the support of joining NATO in 2012 was around 28%, now it’s 89%. One of the reasons putin was claiming for starting the war – to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. Majority of Ukrainians were not even supporting the idea of NATO before ruzzians started grabbing our land in 2014. Now it’s clear to everyone that’s our best chance for preventing future invazions.
