8/11/2023 – Putin threatens the return of fascism in Europe

From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (533rd day of ruzzian invazion): Yale University professor Jason Stanley expressed the opinion that if Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wins the war against Ukraine, his regime will be more brutal than the Soviet one.

“The Soviet Union was an evil Empire, but the order that Putin will try to build on the territory of Ukraine in case of victory will be much more brutal. It will not be the Soviet Union of Stalin’s time, but Poland of Hitler’s time, where the mass physical destruction of Ukrainians can take incredible forms. He doesn’t just want to incorporate Ukraine, he wants to absorb it and impose the greatness of the Russian nation on Ukraine,” Stanley said in an interview with NV.

According to the Yale University professor, people in Europe understand why this should not happen, because Putin threatens the return of fascism in Europe.

  1. Bill Mauldin wrote on his living through WWII–
“No normal man who has smelled and associated with death ever wants to see any more of it. In fact, the only men who are even going to want to bloody noses in a fist fight after this war will be those who want people to think they were tough combat men, when they weren’t. The surest way to become a pacifist is to join the infantry.
I don’t make the infantryman look noble, because he couldn’t look noble if he tried. Still there is a certain nobility and dignity in combat soldiers and medical aid men with dirt in their ears. They are rough and their language gets coarse because they live a life stripped of convention and nicities. Their nobility and dignity come from the way they live unselfishly and risk their lives to help each other.”
