8/29/2023 – Being thankful might take extra effort, but it’s about what you set before your eyes and what you allow to cling to you…

From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 551):

I will sing of steadfast love and justice;
to you, O Lord, I will make music.
I will ponder the way that is blameless.
Oh when will you come to me?
I will walk with integrity of heart within my house;
I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless.
I hate the work of those who fall away;
it shall not cling to me.
A perverse heart shall be far from me;
I will know nothing of evil.
Psalm 101:1‭-‬4

Our intelligence services reported that Russia plans to manufacture about 118 missiles by the end of August.

It is one more reason to thank for a siren-free day in Kyiv (if you don’t count a 24-minute-long air raid warning at night). Being thankful might take extra effort, but it’s about what you set before your eyes and what you allow to cling to you. We did not choose to live during war, but we still have plenty of room for choice-making.
